Hi, I'm Chloe!
I'm an 18 year old creative writer. Although I currently attend high school in the United States, I spent my childhood in Hong Kong and Seoul. My love for writing sparked from my love for reading. I fell in love with books in second grade and the library pretty much became my second home during my elementary and middle school years. I was a part of my previous school's Battle of the Books team, and we won first place both years that I was on the team.
I wrote my first short story, "The Tennis Ballerina," in third grade after getting inspiration from a particularly tiring tennis lesson in which my coach criticized me for spinning around like a ballerina every time I hit the ball back. Since then, I've been writing more short stories and also poems whenever an idea forms in my head. The Notes app on my phone is filled with countless notes containing my spontaneous bursts of inspiration and I often take to scrolling through them whenever I'm lacking creativity.

In my sophomore year of high school, I decided to combine my love for theatre and writing and produced my first dramatic script titled "(Her)Story," which is a play discussing the history of Korean "comfort women" and the story of the Trojan War written from Helen's perspective. This piece sparked my interest in history, women and gender studies, and playwriting, and I'm excited to see where those passions take me!

This blog is a display of some of my past works, and I hope you enjoy reading through them! Thank you for taking the time to stop by!
